BCBS Medicare Supplement Plans
Health Insurance for Individuals over age 65
Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) health insurance companies are all
independent licensees of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
Most if not all BCBS organizations offer health insurance plans for individuals over age 65.
The plans they offer may be 1) traditional BCBS Medicare Supplement
coverage or 2) Medicare Advantage Plans. Medicare supplements
plans provide benefits that cover the gaps that Medicare itself does not
cover.
Medicare Advantage plans replace
Medicare, however you will need to be enrolled in both Medicare parts A
& B in order to enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan.
If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, you do not need a Medicare
supplemental insurance plan as well since they provide basically the
