Amerihealth Health Insurance Plans

AmeriHealth is a rapidly growing group of health care plans, which has grown to more than 479,000 members since its inception in 1995. With its base in the states of New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania the company began doing business as AmeriHealth in July of 1995.

In its product portfolio, AmeriHealth offers an HMO known as AmeriHealth HMO; a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) known as AmeriHealth Personal Choice; traditional coverage; a Medicare risk program for the senior market; AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan for Medicaid recipients and a third party administration plan, AmeriHealth Administrators.

 AmeriHealth HMO has received the highest possible accreditation by the national leader in HMO quality evaluation. The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has awarded both HMOs Excellent status for meeting its rigorous evaluation standards.

AmeriHealth has built carefully credentialed hospital and physician networks for its managed care products, with thousands of physicians and more than 240 hospitals throughout its service areas.
