American Republic Insurance Company was established in 1929 by Watson Powell with 200 charter policies. Through sound fiscal planning and responsibility the young company survived the Great Depression. By the end of World War II the company was ready to expand beyond the State of Iowa and in 1945, Minnesota became the second state in which American Republic® was licensed to do business.
Today the company has become a leader in the individual health and life insurance industry.
