Founded in 1938 and the first health insurance provider in the state
of Michigan, American Community provides group health insurance,
individual health insurance plans and life insurance plans to residents
of about 10 states throughout the Midwestern United States
The company's health insurance portfolio includes
PPO health plans, short-term health insurance, dental insurance,
vision coverage, and
prescription drug plans.
In 2004 American Community developed a high-deductible health plan that
can be used as an HSA when combined with the
appropriate financial instruments.
Today, American Community Mutual insures more than 200,000 individuals.
