UICI offers health insurance to the self-employed through MEGA Life and Health Insurance, Chesapeake Life Insurance Company, and other subsidiaries; it also offers health insurance to students and enterprises with five or fewer workers.

 Health insurance plans for hard to insure employees (entry level, high turnover, & hourly employees) is provided via the company's Star HRG division.

Other services include third party administrative services for health care providers and other insurers. The company markets policies through a sales force consisting of some 4,000 independent contractors.
