Pennsylvania Health Insurance for Children
Pennsylvania CHIP is PA's health insurance program for children (including teens) who live in Pennsylvania and are uninsured and are not enrolled in or eligible for other forms of medical coverage assistance. There is no income limit for CHIP, CHIP has been expanded to cover all uninsured kids up to age 19.
CHIP is free for some families, but may include some small monthly fees and co-pays for other families above certain income thresholds.
The plan is administered by several private health insurance companies that each cover various counties across the state of Pennsylvania.
