Children's Health Insurance Programs in Ohio

The state of Ohio offers two programs for children and pregnant women with limited income to receive health insurance coverage:  Healthy Start, and Healthy Families.

Children and pregnant women can get health coverage through one of these two programs, so long as they are residents of the state of Ohio, and they fall within income guidelines established by the state of Ohio.

The Healthy Start program is available to children with family incomes within 200% of federal poverty level, while pregnant women can receive coverage if their household income is within 150% of this level.

The Healthy Families program is slightly more stringent, as household income can be up to 90% of federal poverty level
