Children's Health Insurance Program in Florida

Florida KidCare is Florida's health insurance program for uninsured children under age 19.

Eligibility for the Florida KidCare Program is based on your child’s age and family income.

The Florida Healthy Kids Corp was established in 1990 by the Florida Legislature to improve access to comprehensive health insurance coverage for Florida's uninsured children.

Today, more than 500,000 of Florida children are uninsured (without health insurance). As a result, they are typically treated for urgent conditions in inappropriate settings.

The Florida KidCare Program is designed to provide affordable health care for both middle class families and lower-income families not eligible for Medicaid, who would be unable to pay the full premium.
