Health Plan Rankings for New York and New Jersey

J.D. Power and Associates ranked health plans in the state of New York and lumped it together with New Jersey.  The award recipient for these states was Independent Health Association which received an impressive rating of five for overall experience.  It received a five in all categories which includes coverage and benefits, provider choice, information and communication, claims processing, statements, customer service, and approval processes.

The next highest ranked plan was Aetna of New York New Jersey which received a rating of four along with MVP Health Care.  BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York and BlueShield of Northeastern New York received a rating of three, as did Cigna New York/New Jersey.  Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, UnitedHealthcare, HIP Health Plan, and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield also received ratings of three.  Oxford Health Plan and Group Health Incorporated, and Emblem Health all received the lowest rating of two.  This information is invaluable as you shop around for the best health care plan to meet your needs.
