Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is looking to significantly increase person to person customer service according to the press release found on MarketWatch.  The member-focused program is called “Blue to You” and involves the use of a multi-purpose van driving through neighborhoods in New Jersey.

The Horizon Blue to You mobile van made its first round last week during a Lakewood BlueClaws event for Silver Sluggers and their family members.  The van plans on making trips through Ocean County in the months ahead, specifically targeting Medicare Advantage customers and Medicare eligible consumers.  This pilot project is striving to offer innovative ways to improve customer experience and bring Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey closer to their valuable customers.

Joseph Albano, VP of Consumer and Senior Markets at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey says Blue to You is more than just a van.  He views it as a promise to their members that they are committed to meeting their needs and providing top notch customer service.  They want to prove they are dedicated to the communities of New Jersey and they hope this initiative does the trick.

The van will aim to give person to person service and health information to individual members, employers and Medicare recipients.  The wheelchair accessible van is equipped with representatives who are courteous and knowledgeable.  They will be able to offer web-based services for insurance information, in addition to completing minor medical screenings and addressing claim processing issues.  This unique program is sure to set the insurer apart since customer service continues to be a crucial part of any quality health insurance plan.
