Quality Health Plan, a Florida Medicare HMO with 10,000 has been ordered into liquidation after failing to maintain appropriate levels of claims reserves and being unable to raise the necessary funds.
Existing members of Quality Health Plan will be moved over to a yet unnamed Medicare health plan in the state, by December 1.
The timing of the closure is actually fortunate for existing members as it is currently Medicare open enrollment time and members have the option of moving to a plan of their choice now through December 7th.
You can compare Medicare health plans here with no obligation.
