Community CCRX Prescription Drug Plan

Posted on: November 21st, 2011 by BlogAdmin No Comments

There are 17 days remaining in the 2012 open enrollment period for Medicare health plans, and this includes Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Plans).

Community CCRx PDP (Prescription Drug Plan) is a federal qualified plan that is offered by the following organizations that contract directly with the government to offer:  Silverscript Insurance Company, and Pennsylvania Life Insurance Company.

There are two stand-alone Community CCRx plans

1) Community CCRx Basic – lower monthly premium (but responsible for $320 deductible)

2) Community CCRx Choice. – higher monthly premium, with no deductible

Both plans offer $0 and $2 co-pays on many popular brand name drugs, and with all Medicare Part D plans, you must continue to pay your Medicare Part B Premium.

The most important thing to understand when selecting a Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan, is whether drugs that you currently have prescriptions for are included in the formulary of the plan you decide to purchase, otherwise they will not be covered.
