As the smart phone becomes more and more popular, consumers are turning to their banks, insurance companies and favorite stores to offer applications which make their user experience smoother. Health insurers are starting to keep up with the times and offer easy access applications. Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) offers a mobile application which has a lot to offer, including helping consumers find doctors and hospitals while on the go.
According to the BCBS News page, consumers are able to easily access a Blue doctor, hospital or urgent care center through the Blue National Doctor & Hospital Finder app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. This application was launched by BCBS recently and is free for members associated with any of the 39 BCBS companies. Other features include the Urgent Care Finder, driving directions, language options, and click-to-call phone numbers. The Blue National Doctor & Hospital Finder app is the latest effort by BCBS to ensure customers have all of the information they need at their fingertips.
Scott P. Serota, president and CEO of BCBSA, points out that BCBS has a strong commitment to offering valuable information to members. The new app is leveraging technology to give customers what they need and in this technological world, they are right on track. A new version of the Blue National Doctor & Hospital Finder application will be made available to Andriod smart phone users later this year.
