Arizona health insurance is about to face big changes like the rest of the country because of Obama’s health care reform.
According to the article “Arizona Lawsuit Against Healthcare Reform” found on TucsonCitizen.com, The Goldwater Institute filed a federal lawsuit this week to block national healthcare reform reported by The East Valley Tribune. The lawsuit argues that healthcare reform violates the rights of business owners, Arizona lawmakers and some members of Congress. The lead plaintiff if Nick Coons, who points out that he only carries catastrophic insurance to save money since he is healthy. The new healthcare reform bill may consider this type of insurance inadequate.
The suit goes on to say that Coon’s medical privacy would be violated since he would be forced to give medical records to a health insurer, and that this information could be accessed by the federal government without his consent. This is one example of many lawsuits to come against this healthcare reform which is ultimately designed to help people carry affordable individual health insurance.
