Michigan Health Insurance Rankings

There were four Michigan health insurance companies included in JD Power’s 2010 Health Insurance Plan Study.  Health Alliance Plan took home the award with the highest ratings.  They actually received the best rating in 6 out of the 8 categories and the 2nd best rating in the other two.

Aetna only received the worst rating in overall experience, coverage and benefits, and provider choice.  They did receive better ratings in approval processes, customer service, statements and claims processing.  Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan faired okay, but did not receive any scores that were higher than about average.  Priority Health did very good receiving the best or 2nd best rating in all categories except provider choice.

JD Power health insurance rankings are extremely helpful for those looking for health insurance, or looking to improve their current benefits plan.  Whether you are looking for individual health insurance or looking to get a student health insurance quote, you can feel confident knowing where your company of choice ranks.  If your particular company does not appear on the ranking report you can check other testimonials to see how other customers rate your provider.  It’s important to understand what sort of company you may end up doing business with.  Price is important, but customer service and timely processing is crucial to consider as well.
