Finding health insurance in Pennsylvania has been made easier with the opening of four additional health insurance stores in PA from Highmark Direct.  Highmark announced last month that the new retail health insurance stores in PA will be opened, 3 in Pittsburgh and 1 in Harrisburg.

Currently, Highmark is the only health insurance company to have retail stores in PA.  The first Highmark Direct store was opened in March 2009 in Pittsburgh’s McKnight Seibert Shopping Center as well as in Mechanicsburg’s Silver Spring Square.  Just in the first year the retail stores had 20,000 visitors, and offered health insurance to thousands.

Highmark INC president and CEO, Kenneth R. Melani MD says that their goal in opening up these new stores is to provide Pennsylvania residents with access to health insurance information that can help them make choices in health care.  He believes the stores have exceeded their expectations, and hope that by opening the 4 new stores they can expand their customer base within the community.  They provide a wide array of services from individual quotes to how to get a student health insurance quote.
